SHUI NING (TANG LAI MING, JOYCE) does not understand why her father SHUI WAI CHOI (KWOK FUNG) has always had such a deep love for the village in which he has brought up. When the news comes through that CHOI has suddenly disappeared from the village, NING is astonished and filled with fear. She beleives the case is not as straightforward as it seems, and so she apeals to her boyfriend LAU HO FAT (KWOK YIU MING, MARK), who works as a sinior police inspector, for help in conducting further investigation. NING does not get on with the village representative CHING NAI HOI (MA TAK CHUNG, JOE) and the bicker constantly, as if there is a bitter feud between them.

A series of accidents befall NING during the investigation, but with HOI around, she is safe from all danger. Gradually, NING has developed a great admiration for HOI. NING discovers that CHOI has made a number of enemies, including HOI, and it seems that the killer could have been anyone among them.
